I think Christmas does mark the season, as does Easter; very quickly the nights are closing in, the afternoons are dark and wintry, though not yet cold, lights are now on in Regent St and Marylebone High St. I can take or leave the shopping. (T)

I must admit to being a sucker for Christmas, tho' I don't want its magic diluted by starting too early.
