Visiting Dom and Dale
On Saturday we took a speedy train down to the south coast of England to visit the Buckton family. Tilly is now 3, and very very sweet. She brought out lots of baby toys for Eddie, and we all went for a walk on the windy seafront. Poor Tom forgot his thermals and was very keen for us to get back indoors. Dale has done up the house fantastically - see the new kitchen! It was Dom's birthday on Sunday so we celebrated, with cake.

Being invited to birthday parties
We've been going to a few parties recently...
Dixie-Ray's was yesterday. She's the one in the pink fairy dress. There was a puppet show!
Here's Clare, Eddie and mum at Clare's party. Clare lives really close to us, just on the other side of Baker Street.
We also went to Vincent's last Sunday (he's in the gold hat) in Soho:

Swimming
I know it is a little dark, but this photo shows Eddie in the change room at our local swimming pool...
He seems to be choosing which swim suit to wear. Mine's the floral one. He wears stripes.
You can also see that his BCG (tuberculosis) jab wound is still quite big. We'll probably need to get it checked out next week, to make sure it's healing properly. They give this jab in London because apparently the cosmopolitan nature of the city means greater risk of catching TB.
We try to go 'swimming' once a week. This involves me holding E as we walk down from the shallow end into deeper water. He shudders and shivers a bit in apprehension...and then relaxes and starts to splash about with his hands, staring in fascination at the adult swimmers in the lane next to us. Sometimes they even stop to say hi and tell E how cute he is, and how good it is that he's learning to swim.
Swimming makes Eddie hungry. Here he is later on (6pm) at dinner time. Mmmmmm, raspberry yogurt, my favourite... hands are looking pretty big there, little fella.

Fridays
As mentioned previously on this blog, on Friday mornings we go to the playgroup at St Mary's. Here's Eddie with his mate, Tom.
On Friday afternoons we walk to Westbourne Park (near Notting Hill) along Harrow road (kind of harrowing, because it's busy, noisy and polluted...but also quite enjoyable, because there are so many CARS to look at!).
We are going there for a 10 week course I'm doing to become a Breastfeeding Peer Counsellor
...which means I can support and encourage breastfeeding mums on a voluntary basis, in the community and in health clinics, etc. It is great fun - Eddie goes to the creche where he is treated like a little prince by Winnie and Petra, who adore him.
It was FREEZING when I took this photo of Eddie...his snowsuit has been essential this winter!

Photo opportunity
Tom and I, enjoying a Friday night in.
Sad, isn't it, to have to take pictures of yourself...but we realised we had no pictures of the two of us - and we need one, because we are starting a small group with St Mary's, and they wanted a 'profile' of us, including a pic...it will be posted on their website, so people can check out which group they'd like to join...
Apparently we have 9 potential members....cool!

Time to reflect
Eddie discovering himself in the Brabantia bin in our kitchen!
He is ALMOST crawling...little bunny-hops and swivels are getting him vaguely from A to B, but yesterday I saw a distinct crawling action for about a metre....so I predict nothing will stop him very soon.
9.42kg in weight, Eddie's actually lost a bit this month - maybe all the concerted efforts to move?
For the next 2 weeks he needs some asthma medication for a slight wheeze detected by his doctor...she doesn't think it's permanent...dear little boy.
