As I was going to St Ives (A)
Tom, reading the boys some nursery rhymes, from a book illustrated by Alex Scheffler.
'As I was going to St. Ives I met a man
with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks, each sack
had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits: kits, cats,
sacks and wives,
How many were going to St. Ives?'
After a few crazy guesses, they had a think...and got the answer right!

Well they're very clever boys. I remember being tricked by that one by my Uncle Harry, when I was very small.
Did you ever get any Alex Scheffler(?) originals?? Remember they were down at Daunts when I was there??
Liking the tower of fruit delights too!
