Watching these monkeys was a reminder of primal parental protection - at one point the boys had gone under the bars toward the actual mesh cage....and the dad monkey (there was a new baby) came rushing toward them, jumped on the mesh and bared his teeth. it was terrifying...as he intended! Thank God the boys had backed off and were out of his reach...amazing huh
My primal parental protection kicked in at that point and i roundly scolded tom, who i felt was to blame for the boys being so close!
These penguins inhabit the 'members lawn' which we are fortunate enough to be able to use...i love the 3 boys standing there...and i only just caught seb before he raced off.

Today, I am sitting on the hardwood floor, in our lounge room. My body
feels pretty normal. My neck aches a little, my tummy is full of dinner,
my mouth...

Lovely the three musketeers!
Love from Opa and Oma
I distinctly remember on my sisters primary school trip one of the boys climbing over 2 safety fences & almost into the lion cage.... & i also remember a monkey knicking my glasses when I was on a behind the scenes tour when i was little as i had not listened about getting to close to the cages :)...... Im sure there valuable wildlife lessons in there somewhere.... :) love Aunty Jxox
i love the last photo. it's so striking how they are three separate boys with their own individuality. i know that's obvious, but I was really struck by that when I was over the other night. the photo also kind of captures each of their personalities, the way they're standing, looking, etc.
love them to bits. uncle sam
