Rachel in Singapore (T)
It is exactly 3 years since Rachel flew from Thailand, where she was working, to Singapore, where Anita and I were at a conference, to unburden herself about her affairs of the heart regarding a man she had met on her missionary work.....called Victor. I can't quite be sure, but I seem to recall that our advice was to wait 3 years and then get married...

At hospital and now home safely (T)
Here's Eddie looking out the window at the BT tower from University College Hostpital, where Anita has spent the last 4 nights. Thank God, she has returned home safely to complete a course of antibiotics that will continue to treat the infection that has kept her there for this time.

Anita & Eddie (T)
I have just changed Eddie's nappy and put him down; we have returned from the hospital, where, rather dramatically, Anita has been having tests for the last few days. All being well with a final test in the morning, she will be discharged lunchtime on Friday. She has some sort of blood infection, and combined with her pregnancy, the hospital is being pretty careful.
Eddie is 18 months old today. Here are three things that may or may not distinguish him from every other child in the world, but definitely distinguish him from his parents:
- like a lorry, he beeps when he goes backwards, particularly when navigating some vehicle
- like a russian, he says 'da' for yes. He also says 'dada' for thank you
- he is obsessed with buses, mobile phones and remote controls

St James Park from a toddler's view
Sometimes Eddie and I go to Victoria, where Uncle Sam works, to have lunch with him. When Tom was recently in Zurich I decided E needed a 'Jones family' fix, so we met Sam for coffee.
On our way home through St James Park, oblivious to splendid views of Buckingham Palace, the swans and the squirrels, Eddie took greatest pleasure in the park's dead leaves, puddles and drains.

Grandma's Orange T-Shirt
Well, not actually Grandma's T-Shirt. A gift from Grandma to Eddie, bought on her trip to Lord Howe Island. And to celebrate how great it fits I (Mum)....(yes I am finally back) had to take some snaps this morning.
Pens and power-points aren't his usual playthings...maybe this is why he looks so happy...or does he...
Orange T-Shirt also helps make out the blur of fast limbs, wild running boy...
Bye
