Eddie at Lord's

eddie had a good day yesterday at a little tournament at lords organised by our club PHCC.   there were visiting teams from Scotland and Amsterdam!   the u11s didn't win, but we did beat the eventual champions Beaconsfield (and we only lost 1 game but suffered from an arcane countback system).    Eddie was best player in the Beaconsfield game, after he and Xan were the only 2 of my players willing to open the batting (in previous matches we'd got in early trouble each time).

photos of the famous urn, from the England balcony (only one boy in pics has english parents), plus the scorecard v Beaconsfield, and our little warrior after his innings, he was unbeaten to the end and hit the winning runs.

Cricket with Ed and Seb (T)

at lords: I took the boys the final day of NZ test, to teach them about test cricket.   They saw 14 wickets for about 100 runs, so will have to take them back to teach them proper slow play.

Stella's Outfits

Stella also started school this term, she is going 3 days a week to the same Montessori school the 3 boys started at.   She likes it though there is one very very very very naughty boy with black hair who she seems to be having some trouble with.

My two cricketers (T)

Off to Saturday cricket club, some weeks at Lord's, some weeks in Regent's park.
During a walk the other week with Grandpa, they got into a discussion on monsters.   Friend Vinnie said monsters are real.

Eddie:  if they were real there would be pictures on the internet
Sebastian:  NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING
Eddie:  what about one plus one equals two???

I am doing this on blogspot not on facebook because I think this gives us a better chance of having a photo album in 30 years time.

Marylebone Station (T)

The red oval plaque above Reuben was put up a few weeks before I came to London, and a few more weeks before  Anita did as well.   It marked the 100 anniversary of Marylebone Station.

Growth Spurts (T)

Remarkably all four children have grown by 17 or 18 centimetres since 7/7/12.   In just under 6 months Eddie from 124 to 141, Sebastian from 111 to 129, Roo from 100 to 117, Stella from 90 to 107

UPDATE: this is complete rubbish of course, the chart we were using had fallen off and been put up about 15 centermetres too low.

A finish product.

By far the most enthusiastic artist in our little family is Reuben.  On a Saturday morning he might come downstairs, help himself to the art drawer and produce some piece of work with paint, pen, glue.   Reasonably tidy too.
