if this link does not work...which i suspect it won't! google 'making clementine candles', and you will find a youtube video put together by 'apartment therapy'...they are so easy and fun to make and v natural...the tricky bit is keeping the natural wick from the fruit in place when u peel it...but with a few goes it gets easier.....hope you all try to make one! they are beautiful if you put them on a mirror so u can see the bottom half better

The night Tom took the older two to see 'The Railway Children' (performed at Waterloo station with a real steam train!) Reuben (possibly sensing he was missing out) asked to 'go out into the dark' and go 'some place'. It was 6pm and they were fed and I was preparing for bed (usually 7pm for them) but I decided to brave the cold and dark and do something......we ended up on a local Cmas tree hunt!

I was given an ostrich egg for my birthday (A)

The Herberts, friends from church, gave me this very large, beautiful ostrich egg on the 3rd of July. Wow. Apparently they take an hour and a half to boil! I decided to make an omelette...and to try to save the shell. After consulting the internet and watching various youtube videos, we got out the hammer and screwdriver, a skewer and a straw. I had my helpers, one of whom became the official photographer - thanks for that Eddie.

Blowing out the egg...we all had a go, but Roo decided not to continue after Seb warned him to blow and not suck! I think he got worried he might get confused and end up drinking raw egg. We all laughed at the funny farty noises the process made!

Here is my church small group enjoying omelette...what you saw cooking in the frying pans were only using HALF the egg! Needless to say we had egg for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Luckily David and Gretta arrived that day, and Sam and Becca with kids, all joined us for dinner! The giver of the egg is sitting front right in the final picture - thank you Ali.

A morning visit to the hospital after a sleepless night...Reuben has lymphangitis (infection of the lymph gland) causing pain, swelling and high temps and general unhappiness.....so glad we have it diagnosed and on meds.

Stella seems destined to have her picture taken at the pub across from church....where this Sunday we ate lunch again, (this time with Jude Law and his kids/friends on the table down from us!)....Stella, had she been awake here, would have been facing him. She literally falls asleep in our arms, no screams, no grizzles, she is amazing.

Once home, it was time for Eddie to finish his homework...what do you think he is studying at the moment?

Monday morning, and Roo is now also off to school (just til 12pm)....he is on the end, in red vest. Everyone is very calm.

Later, at home we inspect the fact that our house seems to be falling apart.

Last night, just before bed, Tom spotted these 2, engrossed in the dinosaur library book. Later, at 1am I got up (for 2 hours) for Roo who just kept on vomiting. Ah, a quiet day in today. Sun streaming in through the windows.

Hi, Stella here. This is the pub where we had my baptism lunch. It is opposite church. I came here when I was 2 days old! Oma didn't think it was a good idea, but my mum and dad seemed to think it was. That was Easter Sunday 2010. Now I am 10 months old!

Hi, it's Anita here now. Our Christmas tree has been relegated to the terrace. Meanwhile, down below in the garden (or 'magic land' as we sometimes call it) the family plays. Toadstools used to grow in the spot where Stella sits.

If you look closely at the picture you can see, next to ravenous Reuben, a tiny Eddie. Waitrose stores give to charities and worthy causes every month. Customers get a green token when they shop and can choose which charity to support. This month Eddie's school is in the competition (coming second so far!!)...and they are using photos from their website, which include this one of Eddie!!!!!

Obviously I have been shopping at Waitrose daily to accrue green tokens....it is a great system though, because they divide £1000 between the 3 causes, proportionately to the numbers of tokens given....so each group always gets something. Phew!

Ickworth is a country house in Suffolk, just outside of Bury St Edmunds.

I love that pic of Reuben lifting his arms to be carried by Tom. Can you see the cold sheep behind Eddie? In the footprints pic we are looking for the fox ones (we saw him running into the hedge) amongst the deer footprints!!!

We drove a hire car to Ickworth (it took 6 hours rather than 2 because of the snow!!). We visited the town, Bury St Edmunds, which has ruins and a Cathedral.

It was snowing when the boys woke up yesterday morning. Seb spotted it first, and asked if it was rain...I said no, something else.....then he and Eddie yelled 'Snow!'.

Seb then ran to Stella, who had joined them in their room and was sitting on our newly acquired bean bag....'Stella, Christmas is coming!!' he said as he kissed her.

I (Anita) am proud to say all the 4 kids have now had their imprints done at John Lewis (Tom does not understand the big deal of these imprints he says) - the 3 boys' hang on their wall and they await stella's (background colour 'heather'....eddie's is 'light green', seb was 'terracotta' and roo 'violet') to join them!

Eddie's were done in 2005, on my way to the Clapham vicarage (it was the day of the Summer Fair). He was 7 and a half weeks old! Seb and Roo were done together - well we had to go back with Roo the next week because he wouldn't uncurl his fist on the day!- when we were back in London, after our Oz year....so Seb was 19 months and Roo only 9 weeks. why am i telling you this? I don't know

maybe it marks the end of a little era in my life. i don't think i will be getting any more imprints done... and, i am thankful this time i remembered to get some pix of the event!

We stayed at a gorgeous family hotel in Fowey. 4 nights, 15 minute walk down to the beach. I know the next pic is blurry but at least we are all in it!
